Chakra Overtone Drum Necklace (COD)
This piece began as a tribute to a dear friend, a gifted musician who transformed the overtone drum into a chakra-resonating musical tool. His artistry inspired me to honor it in the way I know best: through jewelry.
With the help of my colleague, a talented 3D artist who has the rare ability to translate imagination into tangible form, the COD pendant was sculpted with extraordinary care.
Each delicate tongue was recreated to mirror the source instrument, and to complete the resemblance, they were hand-colored with cold enamel, adding subtle color and authenticity.
What made this project even more exciting was its journey across the ocean.
This particular piece was sent to a company in the US that specializes in direct metal printing. Watching the design move from a digital 3D model to a physical object printed in metal was an unforgettable experience. This process felt both futuristic and deeply artisanal at the same time.
This necklace is more than a miniature replica.
It is a love letter to music, creativity, and the people who inspire us. Delivered with admiration, it represents the harmony of friendship and art.
The COD also marked a turning point in my journey as a designer. It was the first time I understood the boundless potential of 3D design, proving to me that almost any shape I can dream of can be transformed into a wearable piece of art.
From this project, new doors opened, leading me to wonderful directions and shaping the artist I am today.
